Swamp Thing on the loose

Swamp Thing on the loose

Our first beer Swamp Thing broke out of the brewery…

and is now out amongst the general public and being rated Untappd **refreshes page every five seconds like Zuckerberg in The Social Network and definitely isn’t going to keep doing this for the rest of my life**

Our last blog covers three years of wishing, willing, waiting and welding. This blog covers much more distance in a shorter space of time.

Three weeks ago, we got our first labels printed, design courtesy of AJ Tracey spewing, Django the Greyhound owning, surfer, designer and all round amazing kid Jack Johnson (not that one) aka Jackdoor Design. A few mishaps and a few burnt labels later we got the best before dates printed, the labels wrapped round them and these dank hazy bois were ready for wholesale.

Two weeks ago we made our first sale. A Friday evening delivery over to our first fan and supporter Luke Thompson at The Draughtsman Alehouse aka Platform 3B Doncaster Train Station. Luke has been a guiding voice since the conception of The Clock, helping and guiding us with everything from HMRC licensing to sales etiquette in the beer industry and we will always be forever grateful for this support.

Last week, sales took off, reaching amongst others The Local Branton and The Badger at Yorkshire Wildlife Park and The Tasting Note Bawtry covering more postcodes of Jamie’s home town as well as receiving delivery of our new shiny fermentation vessels. For now, a 300L and a 500L take our monthly capacity to 2000L but meaning we can release three different beers a month from our modest, small batch brewery.

This week is all about moving forward. We have our first official brew of a West Coast IPA we have been perfecting called Night Moves and a yet unnamed SIPA with plans to rebrew Swamp Thing and to add a Cold IPA and a Fruited Sour to the line up before August is out.

As Brewery Ben plumbs in the new kit and gets ready to brew, The other guy Jamie (that’s me) is heading out to New York on a very crucial Brewery Research Expedition. Ben is lucky to have such a dedicated business partner who is willing to travel the end of the earth to sample great beer whilst he gets to have all the fun brewing ;)

Until next time…
